GTA 6: Release Date, Price, Map, and What to Actually Expect
GTA 6 comes out on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Standard is $79.99. There is no PC date, and the box does not contain a disc.
Wai hello!
People are searching for the date. The useful part is what Rockstar and Take-Two did with it. Two delays. An $80 price. A download code in the box. Console only. That is the launch.
This is written as of 7 October 2026, for a post going out on 29 October. If they move the date again, fix the date line. They already moved it twice.
When does GTA 6 come out?
Thursday 19 November 2026. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Preload starts 12 November. Shop boxes are a code, not a disc, and were set to arrive a week early so people could install.
The December 2023 trailer pointed at 2025. Then it was May 2026. Then Rockstar pushed it to 19 November and said it needed the extra months. Preorders opened 25 June 2026. After two slips, this is the date they are selling against.
How much does GTA 6 cost?
$79.99 for Standard. $99.99 for Ultimate. UK is £69.99 and £89.99. Europe is €79.99 and €99.99.
Standard is the full game. Ultimate adds vehicles, weapons, clothes, and extra story bits threaded through Jason and Lucia’s campaign. It is digital only. Some of those extras are shops and jobs inside the world, not just a skin. Preorders before 20 November also get a Vintage Vice City pack.
Do not pay $100 unless you want those extras. The $20 is margin. Digital costs Rockstar less than a disc, and the physical box is already a code. Take-Two gets the launch without the old shop cut on a real disc.
What is the GTA 6 map?
Vice City again, inside a state called Leonida. That is Rockstar’s Florida. Named areas: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. City, keys, wetlands, a port, a park.
Rockstar has said Vice City is much bigger than the last city. Fan maps guess the whole state is more than twice GTA 5. That second number is not official.
Who do you play?
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. A couple on the run in a fake Miami, not one man building an empire. Lucia is the first woman you play in a mainline GTA. The internet will fight about that. The business does not care. The campaign is still the product.
What is the actual plan?
A single-player campaign on the two consoles that can charge $80 today. No first-person mode confirmed for launch. No GTA Online sequel announced for day one. The ESRB listing already flags in-game purchases, so the shark cards are not dead.
No PC in November. GTA 5 took about 18 months to reach PC. Red Dead Redemption 2 took about 13. That is the pattern. It also keeps the first wave inside PlayStation and Xbox stores, where the cut is known.
What not to expect
A Nintendo version. A disc. A surprise early launch. A $70 price. If your only machine is a PC, this month is a trailer.
The verdict
19 November. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. $79.99 for the game. $99.99 for the extras. Vice City plus Leonida. No PC date as of October 2026. The map is the fantasy. The launch is a price and a platform lock.

Pok gai.
Pok gai (Cantonese, roughly “drop dead in the street”) is the sign-off. Said with love. Mostly.
